POSCHE works on an exclusive or semi exclusive representation platform . It is OUR philosophy to represent talent that will be a commodity to the company and industry. We take a managerial approach to each talent we represent and focus on all aspects of their career. Models/Talent that are too accessible in one market create the opportunity for under cutting in rates and create submission conflicts. POSCHE networks with industry companies on a local, national, and international plane to help propel a talents career outside of our representation.
POSCHE works on commission when talent are secured for assignments. Even though the rate ranges depending on the type of project, it does not exceed the standard twenty (20) percent.
It is imperative that models understand this is a business and should be treated as such. Models are responsible for producing strong images for the agency to market to their clients. We will always help direct you and your look to the correct sources for your images. Agencies are not responsible for covering your photographic materials. Being in a digital age, information is passed quickly. In Florida, portfolios, composite cards, and headshots are still recommended as industry standard. Models may want to invest in ipads as a convenient way to transfer pictures to their agencies or clients.
MOST important is professionalism. Lateness, no shows, and poor personalities are not tolerated. Models that are on time, prepared, and professional will always be requested back by a client and move ahead in this industry. It is our mission to create a strong and trusting bond with our talent so we can focus on our main objective, your career!
Submissions should include: name, contact information, height/sizes, and current digital pictures (face and a full length image) as well as professional pictures (if you have them).

IS MODELING JUST FOR THE YOUNG? NOT IN FLORIDA!
By: Tyler Molinari
Have you ever been told you should model but feel you missed your time? You should know there are different types of areas in the modeling field. Where fashion typically caters to the young and impressionable, there is a whole other side to advertising referred to as “lifestyles” or “commercial modeling”.
Lifestyle modeling is a big part of the business in the South Florida Market due to its demographic audience including resort, yachting, cruise line, community living, pharmaceutical, and family advertising. This arena commands believable character types that can portray the mother, father, neighbor, doctor, golfer, etc. To stay true to its target audience, these projects tend to cast individuals that are in their thirties to seniors. The Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami regions look for that upscale, sophisticated, and established individual. Opportunities range from print/web advertising, catalog, commercials, industrials, and television. To be specific; I have come across requests for Hindi speaking waiter types for a feature film to a husband and wife couple sharing dinner at a new resort for print advertising.
Modeling is a great part time or additional source of income for individuals who have a flexible schedule or retired. The South Florida modeling market is seasonal (October until June) for the most part with the potential for substantial earnings. Even as a secondary career, it is still a profession and considered as such. A potential model should contact agencies located in their region and research their submission guide lines. An agency that feels an individual has the right look for their clientele will be called in and developed at that point. It is ill advised to spend money in advance on photography that may not be suited to your advertising look. Clear digital shots are all that is needed to gain interest from an agency.
POSCHE MODELS is a licensed (TA#000681) and bonded model and talent agency that representing talent for print, runway, catalog, advertising, and television. Submissions can be made via email at: Agency@poschemodels.com. For further information, please review: www.poschemodels.com

When working as a model it is often asked to “sign” with an agency; which basically means you agree to be represented by that company, often exclusively for that state or region. As a Florida based licensed Agent and past talent I want to provide an outlook from an agency’s view to better educate upcoming or established talent.
Business is about providing a service and/or product while establishing and maintaining viable working relationships. My first advice for a model is to find out what type of clientele an agency works with before seeking representation. Not every model or talent is appropriate for every agency. The concept of a model especially in fashion is one of beauty and almost being unobtainable. As a model, your commodity is your look as well as your talent (runway, etc).
Let us for a moment switch roles if you will. If you were a client, looking to hire a model to represent your company or product, and researched several agencies in the area. One model you feel best represents your vision and happen to come across their photos on multiple agency websites. Wouldn’t you as a business person then try to shop for the best price or negotiate the most cost effective price? In a down economy and highly competitive field with assignments hard to secure, doesn’t this as a model seem counter productive? An agency needs the leverage to properly negotiate the terms and rates for that assignment. If a client decides to merely work with another agency for the same model at a lesser rate, it is detrimental not only to the model but the market as a whole.
When it comes to casting, there are several different ways an agent will submit talent for a project. When a Casting Director or client receives multiple submissions from different agencies but showcase the same model, this opens the door for conflict. As an agency owner, why would I want to put all my efforts into a talent that is either never available to take bookings through me or that is potentially hurting my business.
Some markets require an exclusive agreement in order to be represented. Talent may have one agent per market and book assignments on a national or international level. In Florida, a talent is an independent contractor in a right to work state. Although the talent is allowed to seek assignments, an agency may not wish to represent that individual. An agent’s objective is to develop, introduce, and manage a talent’s efforts. An agency provides protection, proper negotiation, and navigating the talent to their goals. The bottom line is that modeling is still a business with the intent to make money. An agent makes a commission from when a talent secures an assignment, so it would behoove an agency to work with talent that they feel would best fit their clientele. The product (the models) should reflect the agencies vision and provide an aura of specialty and uniqueness. What is unique about a talent that can be found on every port available?
A talent will combat that they will get more opportunity to be with several agencies, I know, I was one. However, my thought process was I would rather work smart and land assignments that are going to be more lucrative and beneficial to my career instead of working lesser assignments and burning bridges along the way. My advice is to determine where you realistically fit into the industry and who will provide the path for you. Work smart, work honest, and communication will help you decide what best fits your needs.
POSCHE MODELS works with both exclusive and limited agreements. Intent of status will be provided prior to agency acceptance.

Miami is an eclectic market to work as a model. It is very specific to its environment yet caters to production on an international platform. First an individual has to determine where they realistically fit into industry standard. There are different types of modeling in the South Florida region consisting of runway, catalog, lifestyle print, plus modeling, fitness, trade events, commercials, and television/film. Most agencies will list their requirements that they look for on their respective websites and the best means of contact.
An individual who is seeking representation as a possible fashion model (runway, editorial, catalog) is suggested to take some regular digital style photographs and send these along with pertinent measurements and contact information (age, height, suit or dress size). If interested, an agency will contact a prospective model for an interview and decide if they have a clientele for that individual. For the digitals; typically a female would want to be in a solid two-piece bathing suit with no make up and hair pulled back so the agency can determine body type and facial features. A male model would be advised to wear a gym short or bathing suit. A female who is interested in fashion related assignments typically needs to fit specific criteria. Once accepted by an agency, they will guide you to obtaining the proper tools for your career (portfolio, composite card, etc.).
Why have an agent? Agents are licensed and bonded by the state. They are regulated in their practices and are the individuals who have established relationships with decision makers such as designers, casting directors, producers, advertising agencies, and photographers. A reputable agent will help guide your career and handle the details for each assignment. Agent’s work on commission so it behooves them to work with talent they strongly believe will work for their clientele. It is always beneficial to research a company and ask questions before signing any agreements.
A model that is being developed will have some work on their end too. Remember, as a model, you are the product and your own business. With nothing, you get nothing. A model needs to constantly practice and stay updated on the latest trends and runway walks. Obtaining the right type of photographs that will reflect your abilities, diversity, and yet appeal to mass markets. Modeling in South Florida is seasonal; we secure most of our assignments from the months of October to May. When we are “out of season”, it is suggested models continue to develop their books and tools to keep clients interested in using them. Some models opt to travel during this time and explore markets such as New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, or abroad. Remember, the pictures you use in South Florida may not reflect on the market you are traveling to.
If you find yourself not receiving the response you hoped for, there are several different types of modeling opportunities. Perhaps your look or abilities lean more towards television or lifestyle commercial modeling. Continue to believe in yourself, stay professional, and try to get advice on where you may fall into this industry.
